At the confluence of the Cañada de Fuente Techá and the Sierra Prieta forest track, this route begins and leads to the top of the peak of this mountain range. Next to the fountain, an old abandoned lime kiln reveals one of the uses of the limestone rocks in the area, that of converting them into lime for whitewashing houses.

The first section runs alongside the gully and then gradually separates from it, zigzagging up the hillside in search of the rocky formation of Las Ventanillas. A steep climb through bushes and some pine woods will lead us to the so-called “Castillito de las Ventanillas”.

Once we have crossed Las Ventanillas, the path continues the ascent practically along the mountain range, sometimes climbing steeply, with curious mountain vegetation beginning to appear until we reach the peak, situated on a small plateau. At the summit of Sierra Prieta, just above some rocks, stands a geodesic vertex. It is, after the Sierra de las Nieves itself, the highest in the region.

On the way back, there is the option of taking a different route in Las Ventanillas, which also leads to the forest track.
