At the confluence of the Cañada de Fuente Techá and the Sierra Prieta forest track, this route begins that allows us to reach the peak of this Sierra. Next to the fountain, an old abandoned lime kiln reveals one of the uses of the surrounding limestone rocks, that of converting them into lime for whitewashing houses.

The first section runs next to the ravine, to progressively separate from it, up the slope, in a zigzag manner, looking for the rock formation of Las Ventanillas. A steep climb through bushes and some pine forests will lead us to the so-called “Castillito de las Ventanillas”.

Once through Las Ventanillas, the path continues the ascent practically along the mountain range, sometimes steeply uphill, beginning to show curious mountain vegetation until reaching the peak, located on a small plateau. At the summit of Sierra Prieta, just above some rocks, a geodesic vertex rises. It is, after the Sierra de las Nieves itself, the highest in the region.

There is the option, on the way back, to take a different variant in Las Ventanillas that also leads to the forest track.
